The sun peeked up over the sand. It was the most perfect day for a newborn portraits on the beach! Heather walked toward me with with a small bundle of joy and two cheerful pups. The morning was pristine.
When Heather first contacted me for a newborn session, I told her I did not specialize in newborn photography. She said that was perfectly fine, if not preferred, because she wanted her images to feel real and natural. That is when I knew they we were the right fit. For this sweet little family’s newborn and family portraits, my goal was to make them feel as natural, warm, and joyful as this family felt standing right in front of me. Their little bundle of joy loved milk and snuggles. And their dogs, Rush and Charlie, loved to protect momma and run around in the sand. Heather and Zach, you have a beautiful family and home!
Newborn portraits in the nursery
These portraits were extra special since this sweet family lived about a block from the beach! We walked right on back to their home to capture their nursery. I love the simple beachy touches and muted natural blues. Everything from their neck pillow to the picture above JB’s crib showed so much love. I think most impressive part of all is that Heather designed this nursery herself! Floating shelves, wallpaper, decor, and all! It felt like I was taking a peek inside their lives by capturing these portraits of their son in his nursery. Capturing snuggles and real moments formed some of my favorite pictures from this session. I hope you can feel their love and joy through these images!
Heather specifically loved this image for its sentiment. I love the quote, but I also love how well it fits in with the spirit of her nursery!
