D+J’s engagement portraits at the Kennedy Center in Washington DC was off to a great start. The weather seemed promising, but Mother Nature had other plans. Fifteen minutes in, raindrops began to fall from the sky. Instead of getting disheartened, D+J embraced the rain and turned it into a romantic moment. The raindrops created a beautiful backdrop for their portraits.
With smiles on their faces, they laughed and danced in the rain. As the rain intensified, we decided it was a good time to drive elsewhere to finish the session at a second location. While the Kennedy Center was incredibly beautiful even in the rain, we had run out of options. So they ventured into the city, hand in hand, capturing candid moments along the way. The rain added a touch of spontaneity and adventure to their engagement photos. Wet streets and glistening lights reflected their love story. D+J’s session became a memorable journey through rain-soaked streets and cozy cafes. I got to watch their love show through every image, rain or shine. The rain only enhanced the romance and made their portraits even more captivating. In the end, D+J’s engagement session turned out to be an unforgettable experience, showcasing how nothing can ruin their fun without their permission.
We finished up their engagement portraits at the cafe where they had their first date. They ordered some drinks and reminisced on their first time there. While the cafe itself had been completely remodeled, it will always be the place they met. It’s almost a metaphor for marriage. As we grow and change and become different people, we still rely on each other and the memories we have made. Before I get too sappy now, cheers to D+J! I absolutely cannot wait for your wedding day.
