Washington DC Engagement Session at Capitol Hill

Not every morning do I wake up at 5am to catch the sunrise, but when I do it’s for a Washington DC engagement session at Capitol Hill. The sun rose just as we arrived, and it was the most beautiful morning in May. You know that smell outside of freshly cut grass? With a slight humidity in the breeze? Yeah. It was that kind of morning. And the sweetest dog that is just a little cloud of happiness turned the corner with this sweet couple. It was a great morning for a DC engagement session at Capitol Hill.

We started at my favorite spots at the Capitol, and then drove over to Georgetown for a second location. While the sun was beaming when we started, by the time we got to Georgetown it actually started raining. That’s DC weather for you. My favorite part about this session with Jeehan and Josh was how relaxed and ready to have fun they were. Strolling down the canal in Georgetown (even in the rain) felt like talking to old friends. We talked about wedding planning, family, and enjoying lazy Saturdays.

If I could recommend just one thing for your engagement session, it would be to trust your photographer! And if I could tell you two things, it would be to pick killer outfits the ones Jeehan and Josh chose. When in doubt, dress it up. I hope you enjoy scrolling through these as much as I enjoyed capturing them.
