These two got engaged on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial, so it’s only fair that their engagement portraits were at Capitol Hill. Their love of fitness brought them together, and their engagement actually occurred during a workout! As they were running the steps of the Lincoln Memorial, the ring bouncing around in his running shorts, he got down on one knee. If that isn’t the perfect engagement story, I don’t know what is.
This overcast evening was perfect for portraits. The forecast teased rain, and so we didn’t have a huge crowd. These two had impeccable style, and felt so at ease with each other. I couldn’t help but smile! They had so many natural giggles and side glances toward each other. They ultimately chose the Capitol for their engagement portraits since the city means a lot to them. As I mentioned, it’s where they were engaged. But this groom also works across the street from the Capitol building, so it’s the perfect spot. He even found our perfect spot for Cherry Blossoms! This engagement session was during the middle of peak bloom for the Cherry Blossom Festival. While I love the tidal basin during peak bloom, these cherry blossom portraits are some of my favorites. Their engagement portraits at Capitol Hill are the best way to start this wedding season. Cheers to you two, and to your future together!
